Teak was planted in high rainfall and productive areas like Kothagudem, Paloncha, Kaghaznagar divisions under the earlier plan period. During this Plan period the continuance of Teak plantations was reviewed. Considering that Teak has a long gestation period, it may not be a suitable proposition to go ahead with large scale Teak planting. Hence, it is proposed raise teak plantations in combination with the custard apple plantations in Hyderabad metropolitan areas of Corporation specially in suitable areas in Ranga Reddy and Medak divisions as part miscellaneous mixed plantation areas. However, it is proposed to maintain the existing Teak plantations area of 215.86 Ha already raised.
